Significance of innovation in the light of research on the value and competences systems of organizations

Abstract
Innovation has been pointed out as the tool of differentiation for companies, and finally as the source of their competitive advantage. The great popularity of this phenomena is combined with its ambiguity and the lack of commonly adopted definition. Such a situation causes, that with the action taken by companies to implement the innovation the one has been carried out (with reference to widely understood social aspects of functioning of the organization) in two spheres: the organizational values and competences . In the article the importance of the innovation in the functioning of the contemporary or-ganization has been presented. As practice shows, the innovation of employees through their action is resulting in all areas of the organizational activity: new or modified products (services), processes, structures or management. Putting the innovation both as the element of a system of values as well as the system of competence of the organization is pointing from one side at its undeniable meaning for achieving success by contemporary organization but also to the complexity of the implementation process of the innovation as the routine of the organization.
