Abstract
The visual image of the architectural environment of historical cities in Poland and Ukraine significantly differs in the last centuries. Nevertheless, it has not been the constant feature. The research is devoted to the search for common compositional principles of forming early medieval cities in Poland and Ukraine in order to adequately assess their contribution to the world culture.
