Simulation and Experimental Verification of a HB-Type Vernier Motor
Journal Title: Engineering, Technology & Applied Science Research - Year 2013, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
Direct drive motors are used as actuators in numerous applications in which they must rotate at low speeds with high torque and low torque ripple. Various types of vernier motors have been studied recently. The HB type vernier motor is one of them. Its rotor structure is the same as in a HB type stepping motor but has a field winding at the rotor and has multiphase windings in the stator. In the present work, a Matlab simulation of a HB type vernier motor is presented. To validate the motor results and response, the authors fabricated the motor and implemented its drive circuit. The motor was tested for different load conditions. Experimental results are found identical to simulation results and it is also shown that the motor has low torque ripple.

Numerical Analysis of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) Shear Walls and Steel Strips under Cyclic Loads Using Finite Element Method
Reinforced concrete shear walls are the main elements of resistance against lateral loads in reinforced concrete structures. These walls should not only provide sufficient resistance but also provide sufficient ductility...
Simulative Study into the Development of a Hybrid HVDC System Through a Comparative Research with HVAC: a Futuristic Approach
High Voltage Direct Current Transmission (HVDC) is considered a better solution for bulk long distance transmissions. The increased use of HVDC is a result of its advantages over the HVAC systems and especially of its fa...
Implementation of a Flexible Bayesian Classifier for the Assessment of Patient’s Activities within a Real-time Personalized Mobile Application
This paper presents an implementation of a mobile application that provides a real-time personalized assessment of patient’s activities by using a Flexible Bayesian Classifier. The personalized assessment is derived from...
A Probabilistic Approach for the Evaluation of Fault Detection Schemes in Microgrids
An important challenge in protection of a microgrid is the process of fault detection, considering the uncertainties in its topologies. Equally important is the evaluation of proposed methods as their incorrect performan...
A Model For the Development οf Employees’ Learning (Career Path) in Industrial Enterprises
The goal of this study is to propose a model for the development of employees' learning (career path) in industrial enterprises. In the research a descriptive-survey method along with field research were used. The statis...
