Simulation of Project Completion Time with Burr XII Activity Distribution
Journal Title: Asian Research Journal of Mathematics - Year 2017, Vol 6, Issue 4
Abstract
Project Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) in conjunction with Monte Carlo simulation is no doubt a useful and an acceptable tool for the analysis of project networks. However, a common challenge in practice is the inability to confidently select appropriate input distribution to represent activity durations owing to scarcity of project network data. A pilot survey of bore hole drilling projects in Benue state, Nigeria revealed that most activity duration data do not follow the Beta distribution and some other commonly used activity duration distributions. Hence, the Burr XII distribution is introduced as input activity duration distribution in the simulation of stochastic project network. Some desirable properties that qualify the use of Burr XII distribution are also presented. Results obtained using the Burr XII activity duration distribution shows advantage over the traditional PERT-Beta.

Chemical Reaction Effects on MHD Nanofluid Flow of a Convection Slip in a Saturated Porous Media Over a Radiating Stretching Sheet with Heat Source/Sink
Numerical analysis is presented to investigate the chemical reaction effects on magnetohydrodynamics convection slip flow of nanofluid in a saturated porous media over a radiating stretching sheet with heat source/sink....
Degree-correlation, Robustness and Vulnerability in Finite Scale-free Networks
Many naturally occurring networks have a power-law degree distribution as well as a non-zero degree correlation. Despite this, most studies analyzing the robustness to random node- deletion and vulnerability to targeted...
Diffusion-thermo and Thermo-diffusion Effects on MHD Fluid Flow over Non-linearly Stretching Sheet through a Non-Darcy Porous Medium
In this paper, we discuss Diffusion-thermo and Thermo-diffusion effects on MHD free convective incompressible, Newtonian fluid flow over non linearly stretching sheet with radiation and chemical reaction, through a non-D...
On the Symmetric Genus of K-metacyclic Group and Its Presentations
The symmetric genus of a finite group G is defined as the smallest genus of a compact connected oriented surface on which G acts faithfully via diffeomorphisms, which may be orientation-preserving or orientation-reserv...
Topologized Cut Vertex and Edge Deletion
In this paper discussed and study a new result of non-topologized graph by using cut vertex and cut edge component of the graph makes the graph to be Topologized graph. This concept implemented to some families of graph.
