Simulation of the Optimized Structure of a Laterally Coupled Distributed Feedback (LC-DFB) Semiconductor Laser Above Threshold
Journal Title: Engineering, Technology & Applied Science Research - Year 2013, Vol 3, Issue 5
Abstract
In this paper, the laterally coupled distributed feedback semiconductor laser is studied. In the simulations performed, variations of structural parameters such as the grating amplitude a, the ridge width W, the thickness of the active region d, and other structural properties are considered. It is concluded that for certain values of structural parameters, the laser maintains the highest output power, the lowest distortion Bragg frequency δL and the smallest changes in the wavelength λ. Above threshold, output power more than 40mW and SMSR values greater than 50 dB were achieved.

Interaction of Rupture Zones of Adjacent Anchor Plates in an Analogical Medium
In this paper, an experimental study which required the design and implementation of a model containing plastic granules powder to simulate a natural environment, is presented. The latter is subjected to the removal of "...
Effect of Standard No. 2800 Rules for Moment Resisting Frames on the Elastic and Inelastic Behavior of Dual Steel Systems
According to most valid Design Codes including the Iranian Seismic Design Code (Standard No. 2800), moment resisting frames in dual systems must have the ability of resisting the 25% of the total lateral load of the dual...
A Study of the Effective Lifetime of Aluminum Buckets Used in Blood Bank Centrifuges
Rotating parts of blood bank centrifuges are under heavy mechanical cyclic stresses due to their centrifugal loading conditions. Estimating the effective lifetime for these parts is very important for their application....
