Simulation shrinkage and stress generated during convective drying of carrot slices
Journal Title: International journal of Advanced Biological and Biomedical Research - Year 2013, Vol 1, Issue 12
Abstract
The moist sample shrinks during drying and the non-uniformity shrinkage involves stresses in the body. The aim of the present work is simulating deformations and drying-induced stresses of carrot slice during a convective drying. The effect of shrinkage on the heat and mass transfer profiles were considered. Nonconstant physical and thermal properties were also incorporated in the model and the Experimental conditions were as follows: a drying temperature of 333 K, relative humidity of 11% and air velocity of 1.2 m/s.

Effects of Different Sizes of Mini-Tuber on Yield and Yield Components of Potato Variety Agria
Given the importance of potato in the economy and people’s nutrition, as well as planting of disease-free seeds, it seems necessary to produce healthy seeds through tissue culture. This study was conducted during 2012-...
Study on Baseflow Separation of
Objective: Currently, the evaluation of baseflow components have been of a worldwide concern due to the influential role of streamflow (base flow and direct flow)in agriculture, water sources management as well as supply...
Study of relationship between related yield traits using correlation and regression in wild barley (Hordeum murynum)
Genotypic variation is useful to breeders when selecting genotypes to improve particular traits. In order to study of genetic diversity 20 genotypes of Hordeum murynum studied in the form of randomized complete block d...
Shifting mosaics in semi-steppe rangelands driven by interactive effect of human made disturbances
Semi-steppe rangelands are a complex, highly dynamic and often multi-layered mosaic of grassland, shrubland, and intermediate communities. A few recent studies have explicitly or implicitly developed synthetic hypothes...
Influence of inter and intra row spacing on growth and yield of Vernonia (Vernonia galamensis Cass.)
Vernonia galamensis Cass is a huge potential industrial crop with very high content of vernolic acid in the seed oil. The experiment was carried out to determine the effect of inter- and intra- row spacing on the yield...
