Simulation Study of the Aerodynamic Force Distributions on the UAS-S45 Baalam Wing with an Upswept Blended Winglet
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2019, Vol 11, Issue 1
Abstract
In this paper, the wing on the Unmanned Aerial System UAS-S45 Bàalam from Hydra Technologies is modeled and studied so that its aerodynamics and baseline performance can be better understood. More specifically, the performance of the wing, with and without a detachable upswept blended winglet, is investigated. Using detailed CFD results, the impact of this winglet is demonstrated through its effect on the spanwise distributions of forces and moments along the wing.

Thermo-mechanical and tribological properties of phenolic polymers composites and C-C composites
Formaldehyde resin-based composites have been an inaugural step in obtaining and using composite materials and they have grown rapidly because of their multiple uses, especially in electrical and aeronautical field. Phe...
Controlling the Motion of a Planar 3-DOF Manipulator Using PID Controllers
This paper mainly presents a method to model the 3-DOF manipulator with PID controller in Matlab-SimMechanics and the way to find out optimal parameters in the PID controller including: proportional gain, integral gain a...
Evaluation of High Lift System with Oscillatory Blowing in 2.5D Configuration
Following the successful results of the test campaign on 2D configuration of the oscillatory blowing system in the flap gap of the INCAS F15 wind tunnel model, extensive evaluation of the 2.5D effects have been initiated...
Algorithm for the aircraft trajectories considering No Fly Zones for a Flight Management System
In this paper, optimal four dimensions trajectories (three space dimensions and one time dimension) are designed using new conceived algorithms, to connect all waypoints specified in the flight plan of an aircraft. The d...
Design methods of Coanda effect nozzle with two streams
This paper continues recent research of the authors about the ACHEON Coanda effect two streams nozzle. This nozzle aims to produce an effective deflection of a propulsive jet with a correspondent deviation of the thrust...
