slugA Still Modified Approach to Particle Swarm Optimisation :A Review

Abstract

Swarm intelligence approach to the optimisation problems might be loosely divided into two families, namely Ant Colony Optimisation(ACO) and Particle Swarm Optimisation(PSO) methods. PSO is a global optimisation algorithm that originally took its inspiration from the biological examples by swarming, flocking and herding phenomena in vertebrates. This paper presents a review of basic PSO as well as the techniques involved.Genetic Crossover for improvement in basic PSO has also been discussed and also about the future directions that would be taken for improvement in the same regard.
