slugEnhancement Gain of CMOS PA using Microstrip line for Millimeter wave applications

Abstract

This paper proposes the enhancement gain of CMOS power amplifier (PA) using micro-strip line for millimeter wave applications. A novel thought of new design of CMOS power amplifier achieves higher output power and power added efficiency. A 50Ω micro-strip transmission line as a matching network is adopted in class AB PA for enhancement of gain. The circuit is simulated using 90nm TSMC CMOS technology in ADS tool. As shown by the simulation results: at 31GHz under 1V, the output power is 10.1dBm while input power signal is 0dBm, the power gains more than 20dB of broadband within 29.5GHz to 32.5GHz, and the power added efficiency(PAE)is 73%.
