Journal Title: International Journal of Management, IT and Engineering - Year 2012, Vol 2, Issue 2

Abstract

The effectiveness of software project management is dependent on multi-disciplinary, interrelated factors including the management of project scope, project time, project cost, project quality, project human resource, project communication, project procurement and project integration. The development process for modern software’s has become a solid engineering paradigm rather than a social activity. In this regard the project management for software development has become one of the most leading areas of interest. An affective project management and development methodology can lead to successful high quality software. In this research paper a critical review has been presented about the modern practices being under used for software project management. The paper point outs the different critical aspects of the software project management causing high impacts on software development and on the society itself. A large number of co-related project management aspects with their impacts have been critically analyzed for further active research work for exposing new methodologies for managing the project activities.
