Social and Biological Risk Factors for the Development of Physical Abnormalities in Infants with Perinatal Lesions of the Central Nervous System
Journal Title: Здоров`я дитини - Year 2014, Vol 1, Issue 52
Abstract
We observed 448 children aged 1 to 3 years with perinatal lesions of the central nervous system (CNS) of hypoxic-ischemic origin and mild to moderate severity. The objective of research — identification of social and biological risk factors of formation of low height and weight deficit in these children. As the result of undertaken study, we highlighted the risk factors and worked out formalized prognostic tables of weight deficit and low height development in infants with perinatal CNS lesions. It is found that biological factors are important for the formation of low height, whereas for the weight deficit — the combined effect of both biological and social factors.
