Social and economic determinants of health: conceptual bases of research

Abstract
The article is theoretical foundation of basic principles of research on social and economic determinants and the development of the mechanism their effects on population health. Achieving this goal accomplished such scientific and special methods of research: analysis and synthesis, generalization and systematization, sociological, historical. It proved the value of social and economic determinants in shaping and maintaining the population. It identified the basic principles of their research. It analyzed the peculiarities associated with social and economic determinants of social inequality and differences in health status. It done grouping social and economic determinants (contextual, structural and proximal levels) and the scheme of the mechanism their effects on population health. Conducting research laid the theoretical foundations for the development of methodical positions assess the impact of social and economic determinants of population health and its practical implementation in the example of Ukraine’s population.
