Social and regulatory concept of target of crime (criminal offence).

Abstract
The article analyzes criminal law nature of such element of a crime as a target. The author concludes that though it is recognized as mandatory for identification of the basis for criminal liability, yet this notion is generally defined outside the regulatory framework and is described as purely social, thus stripping it of any application possibilities and leading to artificial expansion of the subject of the criminal law control, and eventually, to blurring the subject of the criminal law on the whole. In order to overcome this trend, the author suggests a social and regulatory concept of a target of a crime.
