Abstract

Social health problem became more actual now not only because of political, social and economic crisis but also owing to the state of war in Ukraine. We made correlation and regression analysis and also the comparative analysis based on the European Social Survey (2004) to have a better determination of Ukrainian social health factor condition. When we used the mentioned data it became clear that Ukrainians give very bad evaluation to both national health system (2,68 points in average out of 10 possible) and their own health condition (20,5 % believe it to be very bad, 49,6 % – middle). To the question «Who do you refer to in cases of bad sore throat, intense headache and backache or insomnia» Ukrainians mainly answer «to no one» or «to friends or family members». Low level Health Care of Ukraine if compared to Poland and Germany is also an evidence of a «professional failure» of Ukrainian health system in total. Regression models for health conditioning factor for the case of Ukraine, Poland and Germany proved uniformity of each system factors; the revealed set of factors is relevant and meaningful to these countries but the power of influence of each is a bit different. Age of people has the biggest impact on health self-esteem that is quite natural because health is deteriorating with age. Health self-esteem of Ukrainians and Polish mostly depend on their age (с = -0,367 and с= -0,428 respectively;  =0,000) more than Germans (с= -0,030,  =0,073). Financial status factor is stronger for Ukrainians (с=0,108,  =0,000) than for Polish and Germans (с = 0,086, a =0,000 and с=0,056 a =0,002 respectively). Feeling lucky is also an important factor of health for Ukrainians (с=0,165, α =0,000) the same for Polish and Germans (с=0,177, α=0,000 and с=0,148, α =0,000 respectively). Therefore, main social determinants that affect social health are the following: age, gender, financial status, happiness and life satisfaction.
