SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS IN THE CONDITIONS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Purpose. To prove and define the role and place of social responsibility agribusiness in sustainable rural development and to identify factors that contribute to its development. Methodology of research. The theoretical and methodological basis of research is fundamental tenets of modern economic theory, scientific work as domestic and foreign scientists. In the study have been used the following methods: scientific knowledge, including dialectical and inductive approaches to abstract logical (in determining the nature of CSR), sociological research (in the questionnaire of the rural communities and farm managers). Findings. As a result of that poll identified areas of social responsibility carry farms towards their staff, their customers and business partners in their rural communities, and measures implemented to reduce environmental impact. Results of the study indicate that the region as agribusiness and rural communities are not fully aware of the concept of CSR, most agricultural enterprises engaged in social responsibility irregular and do not have their own programs or social budget to implement socially responsible activities. One reason for these results is that almost no relationship between agribusiness and rural communities. Originality of the results of the study is to identify factors that encourage agribusiness entities implement socially responsible activities in Zhytomyr region and the factors that contribute to the development of these processes. Practical value. The results of research are the basis for solution of practical problems regarding social responsibility of agribusiness at regional level.
