Abstract
The purpose of the article is to determine the theoretical and methodological approaches to assessing the economic and social efficiency of cooperative enterprises, organizations and national cooperative system. Methodology of research. The objectives of the article implemented by using the following general and specific research methods: analysis and synthesis, systematization and generalization, dialectical approach. Findings. The article describes new theoretical and methodological approaches to the determination of socio-economic efficiency of cooperative enterprises and national cooperative systems. Practical value. The features of cooperatives as non-profit forms of economic activity as well as their differences from business are also shown.
