Sociological review of religious identity and social-mental health of second grade high school students of education organization of district 1 in 2015-2016 educational years

Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to review the sociological and religious identity cum social-mental health of second grade high school students of all educational organizations of the district 1 in 2015-2016 educational year. The investigated community included all the second grade high school students in the district ‘1’ of Zahedan which included 650 persons and the statistical sample was based on Cochran formula and through multistage cluster sampling method, 241 persons have been selected and to increase the accuracy of the results and reducing the possibility of incomplete questionnaires and decrease in the number of subjects, by calculating 15% more, the final number of the sample is 277 persons and 270 complete questionnaires were returned. Researcher-made questionnaires were used for collecting the data of the study and Pearson correlation coefficient was used for the hypotheses test. The results of the study showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between religious identity and social-mental health of the second grade high school students at education organization of the district 1 of Zahedan city. There is a positive and significant relationship between religious practices and mental-social health of the subjects analyzed and there is no significant relationship between sex and the willingness to participate in religious rituals. Also, there's no significant relationship between the sex and mental-social health of the subjects analyzed. According to the findings of the study, religious identity has a big effect on social and mental health of the students
