Soft power and public diplomacy People's Republic of China

Abstract

The article is dedicated to one of the most important and actual subjects of contemporary international relations – soft power and public diplomacy in the context of South-East Asia’s greatest nation People’s Republic of China. Research starts from theoretical explanation of the concept of soft power and its integral part public diplomacy. The core of the analysis is PRC’s rising interest to soft approaches to foreign policy issues and interaction with the audience of both partner and rival states. Based on comparative analysis the article provides thorough picture of how China backed with its unprecedented economic breakthrough applies soft power potential and cultural tools to alter status-quo both at regional and global level.
