Solar Powered Sound Automated Male Pee Toilet System for Protection against Coronavirus
Journal Title: Engineering and Technology Journal - Year 2020, Vol 5, Issue 8
Abstract
The pandemic and emergence of Coronavirus that have destroyed the world economies unexpectedly, broken health-care systems of many nations and emptied many public spaces, separated many families, friends and many people from their workplaces and disrupted modern society to the level that have never witnessed and no end to the pandemic in sight. Researches show that the virus is primarily spread between people when in close contact or in contact with contaminated surfaces. Public toilet with urinals and sinks available for urinating is one the places where people have direct contact with some surfaces includes water control tap, flushing handle and toilet utensils and all these surfaces needs to be avoided especially during this ongoing pandemic of Covid-19 to prevent its infection or any other germs related cases hence, this work was embarked on invention of solar powered sound automated male pee toilet system for protection against Covid-19. It was conceptualized, designed, constructed and invented with electronics sound actuated circuit, sound sensor, electronics pumping machine, male urinal pot, plumbing materials and powered with 12 and 9 volts DC battery incorporated with solar power for continuous powering system. Its flushing and rinsing time was set to 11 seconds as approved normal time by highly repute academia using suitable electronics components. This automated peeing toilet system is highly needed in public schools, business organizations and many larger firms during this Coronavirus pandemic period to prevent and control the spread of Covid-19. It is portable, unique and easy to install. This research work was sponsored by Science Technology Department and has been officially presented before the Rector and the management of Federal Polytechnic Offa on Monday, 1st of June, 2020 as part of Covid-19 preventive intervention through Technical Committee on Intervention and Containment of Covid’19 of Science Technology Department.
