SOLVING A NAVIGATION PROBLEM WITH THE TOTAL ELECTRON CONTENT MODEL GEMTEC
Journal Title: Solar-Terrestrial Physics - Year 2019, Vol 5, Issue 1
Abstract
This article explores the possibility of improving the accuracy of positioning in single-frequency satellite radio navigation equipment through the use of an empirical model of the total electronic content GEMTEC. The effectiveness of this model is compared with that of the Klobuchar model, which is recommended for the GPS interface control document. We conducted testing at our observation points, using data from the international network of IGS stations in the GPS system. The use of the international network allowed us to select a long period of time for the testing from 2001 to 2017. As a result, it was shown that the GEMTEC model significantly reduces the average positioning errors as compared to the Klobuchar model. We also demonstrate the possibility of introducing the GEMTEC model and its full-featured use in single-frequency home-class receivers, for example, in the Russian receiver MNP-M7.

MONITORING OF MAGNETOSPHERIC PARAMETERS BASED ON COSMIC RAY EFFECTS IN AUGUST 2018
Using data (uncorrected for the temperature effect) from the global network of neutron monitors (GNNM), along with data from the Yakutsk muon telescope complex and the muon hodoscope URAGAN (Moscow), we have applied a mo...
ANALYTICAL MODEL OF THE PLANETARY BOW SHOCK FOR VARIOUS MAGNETIC FIELD DIRECTIONS BASED ON MHD CALCULATIONS
Study of physical processes in plasma near planets often requires knowledge of the position and shape of the planetary bow shock. Empirical models are usually used since theoretical MHD and kinetic models consume too muc...

SCIENTIFIC GOALS OF OPTICAL INSTRUMENTS OF THE NATIONAL HELIOGEOPHYSICAL COMPLEX
Studies of the upper atmosphere have to be performed using optical photometric and spectrometric means. Modern devices allow precise photometry of the glow of the night atmosphere — airglow — with high temporal spatial a...
ANALYZING SOLAR, COSMIC, AND GEOPHYSICAL EVENTS IN SEPTEMBER 2017 USING SHICRA SB RAS COMPLEX OBSERVATIONS
We report the results of monitoring of cosmic rays and geomagnetic field along 210 magnetic meridians in Yakutia in the first half of September 2017. The energy spectrum of solar cosmic rays during Ground Level Enhanceme...
