Somatostatin Receptor Scintigraphy in a Patient with Myocarditis
Journal Title: Molecular Imaging and Radionuclide Therapy - Year 2021, Vol 30, Issue 1
Abstract
We report a case of myocarditis imaged with technetium-99m octreotide cardiac single-photon emission computed tomography which showed diffuse uptake in the myocardium, indicating inflammatory reaction to myocardial damage. Somatostatin receptor scintigraphy of the heart could be considered in patients with suspected cardiac inflammation. This could facilitate early diagnosis and guide appropriate treatment.

Striking Visualization of Diffuse Congenital Nesidioblastosis on Ga-68 DOTATATE PET/CT
“Nesidioblastosis”, later renamed as “persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia of infancy” presents as either focal or diffuse neo-differentiation of pancreatic Langerhans islet cells from the ductal epithelium. Differen...
The Role of Ga-68 PSMA PET/CT Scan on Differentiating of Oligometastatic and High Risk Prostate Cancer
Objectives: In this study, we aimed to investigate whether Ga-68 prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PSMA PET/CT) scanning is adequate to predict intermediate risk, high r...
PET/CT Findings of a Patient with Cardiac Metastasis of Subungual Malign Melanoma
A 58-year old patient with a history of subungual malign melanoma was referred to our department for a 18F-FDG positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) whole body scan. An unexpected 18F-FDG uptake in...
Unexpected Detection of Abscessualized Lung Carcinoma on Tc-99m-HMPAO-labeled Leukocytes Scintigraphy Misdiagnosed on Chest Computed Tomography
Technetium-99m (Tc-99m)-hexamethylpropylene amine oxime (HMPAO)-labeled leukocytes scintigraphy is well established for investigating and diagnosing infections in bone and soft tissue, as well as for the detection of occ...
Small-angle Compton Scatter Artifact in Tc-99m-IDA Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy Resulting in the Breast Overlying the Liver in Planar Dynamic Imaging
Compton scatter photons are generally considered problematic in nuclear medicine imaging. Therefore, efforts are being made to minimize the involvement of these photons by employing some special strategies in daily pract...
