SOME ASPECTS OF ESTABLISHING FAMILY LIFE OF THE GORSKY ARMENIANS (CHERKESOGAIS)

Abstract
In 2019, the city of Armavir is celebrating its 180th anniversary. Armavir was formed as a small village, called “Armyanskiy”. Armavir received its present name in 1848. Armavir quickly grew and developed; such industries as agriculture, industry, trade reached quite a high level. One of the key roles in the development of Armavir as a fairly large economic center of the Kuban region was played by the first settlers Cherkesogais. Over the past period, the Cherkesogais’ culture, including family life, has undergone dramatic changes. Transformations in the family structure of the Gorsky Armenians went in two stages: during the period of residence among the Adyghes and after the resettlement of the Cherkesogais in the controlled territories of the Russian Empire.
