Some Aspects Regarding “Sense and Avoid” Requirements for UAV Integration in the National Air Space
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2010, Vol 2, Issue 4
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to show the importance of mission planning in a fully automatic flight and the critical role of implementing Sense & Avoid (S&A) procedures at different categories of UAVs. Modern operation of UAVs implies the capability to handle separation provision and collision avoidance in a way similar to the manned aircrafts. The main contributions are: the analysis of the importance of organizing a special course dedicated to the technical knowledge of the procedures for mission planning and utilization of UAVs; a critical analysis of the possibilities of integration S&A procedures for small UAVs and the perspective of obtaining low-cost solution, especially for emerging countries.

A 2D description of the single crystal thin plate growth from the melt by micro - pulling - down method. Part 1
This paper is the first part of a 2D description of a single crystal thin plate growth by micro-pulling–down (μ-PD) method. This part concerns the following aspects: the free surface equation and the pressure difference...
AIR FLOW AND ENVIRONMENTAL WIND VISUALIZATION USING A CW DIODE PUMPED FREQUENCY DOUBLED Nd:YAG Laser
Preliminary results obtained in developing a visualisation technique for non-invasive analysis of air flow inside INCAS subsonic wind tunnel and its appendages are presented. The visualisation technique is based on using...
LAMINAR STABILITY ANALYSIS IN BOUNDARY LAYER FLOW
This study presents a numerical study concerning the flow control by suction and injection. The case study is over a symmetrical airfoil with suction and injection slots. The angle of attack is 3 degree with the Mach num...
