SOME CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING THE FATIGUE CRACKS PRODUCING PITTING WEAR OF GEARS
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2017, Vol 62, Issue 2
Abstract
In this article some aspects of the fatigue cracks that have the consequence of pitting wear appearance on the spur gears are presented. The main mechanisms leading to the fatigue cracks, crack nucleation, propagation of cracks of small length, as well as the propagation of cracks on long lengths, respectively, will also be analyzed. The stress field, the growth rate as well as the spread of fatigue cracks will be considered.

A NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF FLUID-STRUCTURE INTERACTION PROBLEMS BY A MESH-FREE METHOD
The solving of fluid-structure interaction problems are traditionally based on arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian formulations in which moving grids are used. However, for problems with large deformations, moving material int...
COMBINED XFEM-COHESIVE FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSES OF SINGLE-LAP JOINTS
Cohesive Zone Modelling (CZM) and eXtended Finite Element Modelling (XFEM) available in Abaqus® are used together to simulate the behaviour and strength of a single-lap adhesively bonded joint. A distinct CZM model is al...
AN ANALYSIS OF THE STORM DYNAMICS IN THE BLACK SEA
The main objective of the present work is to analyze the storm dynamics in the Black Sea. A numerical wave model has been implemented and validated in the entire sea basin, including also the Sea of Azov. The wave model...
MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF THE ULTRASONIC NONDESTRUCTIVE CONTROL FOR THE COMPOSITE MATERIALS
This article presents the realization of a specialized software application for ultrasonic non-destructive testing of heterogeneous composite materials. Starting with the propagation of plane ultrasonic waves inside an i...
EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF THE HEAT TRANSFER AND AIR GAP EVOLUTION DURING CASTING OF AN AC4CH ALUMINUM ALLOY
In the context of rapid changes of the technologies, casting becomes a manufacturing process of an increasing use. Therefore, the numerical methods and algorithms for solving heat conduction problems were extensively dev...
