Sound suppressors For small arms with elastic deformable structural members
Journal Title: Технічна механіка, Техническая механика, Technical Mechanics - Year 2014, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
The paper deals with information about firearms sound suppressors using elastic deformable members, sig-nificantly springs. The results of analysis of their designs are presented and three groups of sound suppressors are classified by concepts and operations of the springs used. The basic problems to be solved in designing such sound suppressors are specified. The possible sources of the results for multi-mass designs with springs are examined. Current sound suppressors produced by Advanced Armament Corporation (USA) are presented for .22LR and 9.0 mm caliber firearm. The most popular MAE Kilwell Whisper .22LR sound suppressor with movable spring-actuated baffles (New Zealand) is examined. The authors developed such design for sound suppressors suitable for 5.6mm (two modifications) and 9.0 mm caliber firearm. Special features of the development work of the sound suppressor design for 9.0 mm caliber firearm are presented. Conclusions are made for the designs developed and lines for continuing these works are proposed.

Mathematical formulation of problem on optimization of motion of group of quadrotor helicopters
This paper describes the development of a mathematical formulation of the problem in control of a group of quadrotor helicopters as an integral dynamic system. The study examines the problems of mathematical modeling the...
On the selection of kinetic model for hydrogen burning in numerical simulation of supersonic non-equilibrium flow
The non-equilibrium efflux of a supersonic air- hydrogen jet in a supersonic cocurrent flow through ax-isymmetrical variable-area channel is simulated using a march algorithm in the framework of stationary viscous-layer...
Numerical simulation of missile payload operation
This paper considers the features of numerical simulation of the predicted destruction of the fastening elements of a special rocket structure under a given gas-dynamic impulse load. The structure under consideration is...
Dynamics of coaxial cylindrical shells in an elastic inertial medium
This paper is concerned with the study of the dynamic stress and strain field in a linearly elastic inertial homogeneous medium with two coaxial cavities reinforced with thin elastic shells under the action of dynamic su...
Сomputation of the pogo self-oscillation parameters in the dynamic "propulsion – rocket structure" system by using a 3d structural model
A mathematical model describing the nonlinear dynamical interaction of a launch vehicle (LV) and its marching liquid-propellant engine in the active phase of the LV flight is developed on the basis of the finite-element...
