SPATIAL STRUCTURE OF WATER TEMPERATURE AND SALINITY FIELDS DURING POLRODEX '96 EXPERIMENT AS COMPARE WITH HIROMB MODEL
Journal Title: Biuletyn Instytutu Morskiego - Year 1997, Vol 24, Issue 1
Abstract
Spatial strocture of water temperature and salinity was worked out on the ground of measurements taken by the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management in Gdynia and Maritime Institute in Gdansk from 26'h July to l41h August 1996. The hon·zontal and vertical distribution of water temperature and salinity during POLRODEX '96 experiment was described. Differences between modelled and observed data were described. Some phenomenon (as upwelling) can be found both in modelled and observed data, however location and magnitude is not the same. Significant differences of salinity can be seen near the Vistula River mouth - HIROMB data shows no influence of fresh water input.
