Abstract
The quality management systems (QMS) should be designed, operated and improved according with the eight quality management principles that are defined in ISO 9000:2005, Quality management systems - Fundamentals and vocabulary, and in ISO 9004:2009, Managing for the sustained success of an organization - A quality management approach. The title of this special Issue "Mechanisms to Promote Continuous Improvement in Quality Management Systems" is aligned with the sixth quality management principle (Continual improvement), from the eight principles on which the quality management system standards of the ISO 9000 series are based.
