Speckle reduction using phase plate array and lens array
Journal Title: Opto-Electronic Advances - Year 2020, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
In this paper, a solution for speckle reduction using phase plate array (PPA) and lens array (LA) in a motionless way is proposed. The specially designed PPA is composed of sub-phase plates, which are constituted by phase patterns formed by Hadamard sub-matrices. Each component of the proposed optical system should satisfy the stated relationships. The incident laser beam will be incoherent after passing through PPA, and superpose on the screen under the action of LA and main lens. Speckle reduction can be achieved by the averaging of the incoherent speckle patterns. Because of abandoning the mechanical movement, it will be suitable for laser displays and images.

Observation and optimization of 2 μm mode-locked pulses in all-fiber net anomalous dispersion laser cavity
We integrally demonstrate 2 μm mode-locked pulses performances in all-fiber net anomalous dispersion cavity. Stable mode-locking operations with the center wavelength around 1950–1980 nm can be achieved by using the nonl...
True random coded photon counting Lidar
A true random coded photon counting Lidar system is proposed in this paper, in which a single photon detector acts as the true random sequence signal generator instead of the traditional function generator. Compared with...
Distributed multicore fiber sensors
Multicore fiber (MCF) which contains more than one core in a single fiber cladding has attracted ever increasing attention for application in optical sensing systems owing to its unique capability of independent light tr...
Contactless vital signs monitoring based on few-mode and multi-core fibers
Few-mode and multi-core fibers are proposed and demonstrated for contactless vital signs monitoring in this paper. In-line optical fiber interferometers using few-mode and multi-core fibers are designed and offset splici...
Hierarchical microstructures with high spatial frequency laser induced periodic surface structures possessing different orientations created by femtosecond laser ablation of silicon in liquids
High spatial frequency laser induced periodic surface structures (HSFLs) on silicon substrates are often developed on flat surfaces at low fluences near ablation threshold of 0.1 J/cm2, seldom on microstructures or micro...
