SPINAL STENOSIS
Journal Title: Journal of Turkish Spinal Surgery - Year 2007, Vol 18, Issue 2
Abstract
Spinal stenosis is narrowing of the spinal canal, nerve root canals and neural foramens. Nar-rowing can be caused by bone or soft tissue structures or both. Low back pain, neural claudi-cation and neural deficits can be seen clinicaly. In treatment, generally non operative treatments prefferred. Patients who have neural claudicati-on and severe pain and conservative treatment did not effect can be treated by surgical decomp-ression that is excision of the compressive structures. Inadequate decompression can cause progression of the symptoms. Radical decompression procedures can cause instability of the spine. In these conditions spinal fusion and inst-rumentation could be needed

VOLUMETRIC ANALYSIS OF VERTEBRAL HEMANGIOMAS: A RETROSPECTIVE STUDY
Purpose: This study was carried out to analyze the volume and localization of vertebral hemangiomas at the T12–L5 levels by MRI in patients with lower back pain. Methods: Thoracic-lumbar MRIs were examined retrosp...
CHORDOMA
Chordomas are aggressive, locally invasive and rare tumors with a poor prognosis. They arise from the remnants of the embryonic notochord. They occur in the whole vertebral column, and are most commonly seen in the sacru...
MORPHOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF POSTERIOR FOSSA AND CRANIAL-VERTEBRAL JUNCTION IN PEDIATRIC CHIARI 1 MALFORMATION
Introduction: Chiari malformations (CMs) are a group of disorders defined by anatomic anomalies of the cerebellum, brainstem, and cranial-vertebral junction (CVJ). We aimed to reveal the differences between pediatric...
VERTEBROPLASTY FOLLOWING VERTEBRAL COMPRESSION FRACTURE IN CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE PATIENTS
Objective: The aim of this study was to demonstrate the appropriateness and efficacy of vertebroplasty application in patients who developed osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) during their chronic obst...
IMPORTANCE OF SOFT TISSUES İN THE MECHANICAL STAB1LITY OF VERTEBRAL FRACTURES
The evaluation of spinal instability due to vertebral fractures is occasionally troublesome. Ligaments and soft tissues are as important as bony structures in maintaining the stability of adult spinal fractures. İn patie...
