Spinal Substance P and CGRP staining in vincristine, cisplatin, streptozocin or constriction injury-induced neuropathies
Journal Title: Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research - Year 2010, Vol 2, Issue 9
Abstract
Substance P and CGRP-expressing neurons were quantified in dorsal horn of rats suffering from painful neuropathy after toxic-, metabolic- or chirurgically-induced injury. The CGRP immunoreactivities were increased in both models and the highest values were in diabetic and vincristine-induced rats. Immunostaining showed increase in SP immunoreactivity in diabetic rats. This study shows injury type-specific SP and CGRP liberation according to the etiology and delay after induction
