Abstract
W dniach 5–10.12.2011 Kopenhaga stała się punktem docelowym dla wielu entuzjastów oraz specjalistów z zakresu badań nad cywilizacją Majów. To właśnie tutaj odbyła się XVI Europejska Konferencja Majologiczna (European Maya Conference, EMC), której gospodarzem był Wydział Humanistyczny Uniwersytetu w Kopenhadze. Konferencja poświęcona była kwestii zatytułowanej: „The Maya in a Mesoamerican Context: Comparative Approaches to Maya Studies”. Inauguracją tego międzynarodowego sympozjum był wykład Simona Martina (University of Pennsylvania Museum), wybitnego znawcy tematyki majańskiej. Prelekcja tego badacza, „An introduction to the Maya writing”, miała na celu wprowadzenie uczestników w arkana epigrafiki Majów.
