START-UP SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES BASED ON SUPERCAPACITORS
Journal Title: Proceedings of Electrotechnical Institute Prace Instytutu Elektrotechniki - Year 2013, Vol 60, Issue 262
Abstract
The paper presents a system for internal combustion engines start, allowing for reduction of the battery operating costs in trucks and significantly facilitating the start of engines. The presented solution is especially usable in winter weather conditions when the temperature of the engine in the vehicle can drop to the level of -30°C. The article presents a general principle of the system, its structure, components and the results of testing.
