State aid for enterprises – is it worth to grant?

Abstract
In the article has been presented some aspects of the issue of state aid granted to companies by state institutions. In the first part, there is the definition and understanding of state aid in the European common market both of in the economic and legal perspective with emphasis on examples of forms of granting. Then discusses the scope of the controversies that exist around the idea of supporting entrepreneurship, as well as the arguments proponents of such solutions, the economic policy of the state. General characteristics of the current situation in Europe and in Poland shows the reader in a synthetic way the scale and structure of this economic phenome-non.
