STATE OF THE HEMOSTATIC SYSTEM IN TRANSMISSIBLE VENEREAL SARCOMA OF DOGS
Journal Title: Біоресурси і природокористування [Biological Resources and Nature Management] - Year 2018, Vol 10, Issue 5
Abstract
The paper presents the results of studies of the hemostatic system in the course of transmissible venereal sarcoma of dogs. It was found that the development of a local malignant tumor of the genitals, which spreads during sexual contacts of animals, draws the whole body into the pathological process due to the peculiarities of its growth and the influence of the products of neoplasia on the hemostasis system, activating the blood coagulation cascade by internal mechanism. Hemostatic disorders develop according to the pathogenesis of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) syndrome, a secondary complicating process that poses a threat to the vital functions of the body during its rapid development. In sick animal’s syndrome occurs in subacute form. At the stage of registration of clinical signs in the form of tumor growths, which resemble "cauliflower", and blood secretions hemostasiopathy is in the stage of consumption coagulopathy and determines unstable equilibrium, after which irreversible processes begin. The diagnostic criteria are the indication of fibrinogen/fibrin degradation products, soluble fibrin-monomer complexes, hypofibrinogenemia, thrombocytopenia, increase in spontaneous platelet aggregation ability and platelet factor 3 activity, and multidirection in coagulation tests of hemostasis determine the stage of the process – coagulopathy of consumption.
