Abstract
La împlinirea a 151 ani de statistică oficială în România (1859 – 2010), stabilirea Zilei Mondiale a Statisticii (20 octombrie 2010) pentru a fi celebrată în întreaga lume – reprezintă pentru ţara noastră, fără echivoc, recunoaşterea importanţei şi rolului statisticii, a muncii statisticienilor de-a lungul vremii, pentru dezvoltare şi modernizare.
