Strain measurements using Fiber Bragg Grating sensors in Structural Health Monitoring
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2017, Vol 9, Issue 2
Abstract
The paper presents some results obtained within a project of the “NUCLEU” Program financed by the Ministry of Research and Innovation-ANCS. The project supposes, among others, the design and the realization of a demonstrator for strain and stress measurements made with Fiber Bragg Gratings optical sensors. The paper details the construction of the demonstrator. The strain measurements induced in a cantilevered aluminum plate are compared with the analytical values provided by a mathematical model, and with the numerical values obtained by FEM analysis. The consistency of these comparative data indicates the achievement within the project of a level of competence necessary for later use of FBG sensors in the applicative researches involving the aerospace structures monitoring.

Analysis of entropy production in some enclosed subsystems where spontaneous processes take place
It is well-known that every spontaneous process occurring in an isolated system is accompanied by increasing entropy. The goal of this paper is to show that if the system is made of several subsystems, the entropy produc...
Dynamics of a cylindrical shell with a collapsing elastic base under the action of a pressure wave
In the dynamic and quasi-static statements, the issue of non-stationary deformation and stability of the solid propellant rocket engine (SPRE) was approximately solved. It is modeled by a thin, smooth cylindrical shell,...
Calculation of heat transfer on the catalytically active surface of high-speed aircraft
The scientific paper analyzes the influence of the catalytically active surface on the intensity of heat and mass transfer in a chemically active boundary layer. Some features of the mechanism of heat and mass transfer u...
Overview regarding the certification of a new military jet aircraft for school and training
The requirements for designing a new Romanian school and training military jet, IAR 99 NG, are in line with the EMAR - European Military Airworthiness Requirement. The Approval Regulation for the new school and training...
