Strengthening Student Discipline Behavior Through The Implementation of Principal Policies in Banyumas Indonesia

Abstract

Student discipline behavior is one of the characters that is targeted in the development of Indonesian character. However, field facts show that there are still school with low levels of student discipline. In Banyumas, there are schools which has managed to do strengthening student discipline behavior through the implementation of the principal's policies, one of which is Vocational School Ma'arif NU 1 Ajibarang Banyumas Indonesia. This study aims to describe the implementation of the principal's policy in strengthening the disciplined behavior of students at Vocational School Ma'arif NU 1 Ajibarang with types of qualitative research that are descriptive. Data collection using interview techniques, observation and documentation as well as triangulation of techniques and sources as a test of data validity. Data analysis was carried out with the stages of data reduction, presentation and verification. The results of the study showed that strengthening student discipline behavior through the implementation of the principal's policy in Vocational School Ma'arif NU 1 Ajibarang is carried out by compiling student regulations, points or sanctions for students who violate and giving rewards for exemplary students. The policy is implemented through four stages of implementation policy, namely policy preparation, policy testing, policy implementation and evaluation policy.
