STRESS EQUATIONS FOR ADHESIVE IN TWODIMENSIONAL ADHESIVELY BONDED JOINTS
Journal Title: Civil and Environmental Engineering Reports - Year 2014, Vol 3, Issue 14
Abstract
The subject of this paper is formulation of shear stress equations for plane twodimensional adhesive layers present in adhesively bonded joints. The adherends are assumed to have the same thickness and be made of an isotropic material. The shape of the adherends in the joint plane is arbitrary. The adhesive joint can be subjected to a shear stress arbitrarily distributed on the adherends surfaces as well as normal and shear stresses arbitrarily distributed along the adherends edges. A set of two partial differential equations of the second order with shear stresses in the adhesive as unknowns has been formulated. For a particular case of rectangular joints a set of 12 base functions has been derived; their appropriate linear combinations uniquely define shear stresses in the adhesive for a joint loaded arbitrarily by a set of axial forces, bending moments and shear forces.

CONSERVATION OF THE ‘PIAST’ CINEMA IN SŁUBICE: AN ARCHITECTURAL, URBAN OR MORAL PROBLEM?
For many years, attempts have been made to remove the relic of the ‘Piast’ Cinema in the western town of Słubice from Poland’s monuments register. This would allow for its demolition and construction of a modern commerci...
AEROPHYTIC CYANOBACTERIA AS A FACTOR IN THE BIODEGRADATION OF TECHNICAL MATERIALS ON EXTERNAL BUILDING WALLS
A study conducted at the Institute of Environmental Engineering, University of Zielona Góra showed the presence of 4 species of aerophytic cyanobacteria in the biological material sampled from the external building wall...
TEMPERATURE PROFILES IN A MICRO-PROCESSOR COOLED BY DIRECT REFRIGERANT EVAPORATION
An analytical solution to the equation for cooling of a unit, in the interior of which heat is generated, is presented. For that reason, a simplified non--stationary model for determination of the temperature distributio...
Solar collector installations combined with heat substations
The paper presents the concept of combined heat production in solar collector installations supporting heat substations. In the first part, the systems of storing solar energy and typical solutions used in the integratio...
NOT IN-SERVICE RAILWAY ARCHED BRIDGES AND THEIR FUTURE
At the turn of the 19th and 20th century, on the areas of nowadays northern and western Poland, the railway infrastructure was developing rapidly. In the late 80’s of the previous century many of the railway lines, toget...
