STRUCTURE AND TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF DUPLEX LAYERS OF THE CrC+(Ni-W) TYPE, PRODUCED BY MEANS OF THE VACUUM CHROMIZING PROCESS TOGETHER WITH GALVANIC TREATMENT

Abstract

In this paper, duplex layers of the CrC+(Ni-W) type produced on tool steel surface, in combined galvanic and vacuum chromizing processes, are investigated. Studies of layer thickness, their morphology, and concentration depth profiles of elements in diffusion zone of these layers have been carried out. Tribological properties of the layers have been determined. It has been proved, that the wear resistance by friction of duplex layers of the CrC+(Ni-W) type, produced by means vacuum chromizing of steel covered with electrolytic coating, is just as good as carbides layers of the CrC type, produced on the steel surface without electrolytic coatings.<br/><br/>
