Students’ Perception and Its Impact on Ghanaian Students’ Interest in Mathematics: Multivariate Statistical Analytical Approach
Journal Title: Asian Research Journal of Mathematics - Year 2017, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
The study aims at addressing the effect of students’ perception and its impact on student interest in Mathematics using multivariate statistical techniques. One Thousand Two Hundred and Sixty Three (1263) students were drawn from ten (10) Senior High Schools in the Ashanti region of Ghana using structured questionnaires to investigate the effect and impact of student perception on their interest in Mathematics. The study used multivariate techniques to investigate and further predict the effect and impact of student perception on student interest in Mathematics. The study concluded that, negative perception of student about Mathematics significantly influence their interest in Mathematics negatively however, students perception explains almost 9% (P<0.001) of students interest in Mathematics. The study recommended for practice teaching methods that inculcates motivations to help reduce bad perception to optimize interest.

Convergence Analysis and Implementation of Adomian Decomposition Method on Second-order Oscillatory Problems
In this paper, a new convergence analysis of Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM) for second-order problems will be presented. The ADM will also be implemented on second-order oscillatory problems to generate approximate s...
Combination of Ramadan Group and Reduced Differential Transforms for Partial Differential Equations with Variable Coefficients
In this article, an analytical technique is provided to solve partial differential equations with variable coefficients. This technique is a combination of the integral transform known as Ramadan group integral transform...
Using the Logistic Function to Illustrate Periodic Orbits as Recurrent Formation
Recurrence as behaviour in the dynamical system is also a state which happens as a result of an outcome of a point which does return to its initial state. But in dynamical system the most simple and easy way to study reg...
Fitting a Multinomial Logistic Regression (MLR) Model to Need Assessment Survey on E-learning in Kenya
Information Communication Technology (ICT) advances have reduced the world to a small village. The use of technology to meet societal need has increased in developing countries. It’s from this perspective that technology...
The Condition Numbers of Semi-simple Eigenvalue of Quadratic Eigenvalue Problem
The condition numbers of eigenvalues of matrices measure the sensitivities of eigenvalues to small perturbation of matrix. They're widely used to assess the quality of numerical algorithms for eigenvalue problems. This p...
