STUDENTS’ RESEARCH WORK AS A MEANS OF OPTIMISATION OF TEACHING FRENCH FOR PROFESSIONAL PURPOSE FOR STUDENTS OF HISTORICAL SPECIALITIES IN ODESSA I. I. METCHNIKOV NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

Abstract
The article analyzes the approaches to the scientific and research work of students, in particular the preparing and the participation in the students scientific conference with the presentation of the reports in specialities “History, archaeology, ethnology” in French and are clarifying the experience of the many years cooperation of the section of French language of the department of foreign languages of social faculties with the Alliance Française of Оdessa in presentation of the reports in French in frames of the annual summary students scientific conference in ОNU I.I. Меtchnikov. The presentation of the results of scientific research of students in scientific seminars, conferences, etc. is known to contribute to the implementation of the guiding principles of the organization of research work as a system that provides the organic unity of scientific and educational processes and on this basis to improve the quality of training specialists, to strengthen the link between science and production, to accelerate scientific and technical progress. The object of this study is the process of optimization of teaching the French language for professional orientation. The subject of the investigation is the research work of students of historical specialitites at Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University, carried out by the means of the French language for professional orientation. The aim of the study is to summarize the long-term experience of teaching French for professional purposes to students of history, as well as the cooperation of the French language section of the Department of Foreign Languages for Humanities with Alliance Francaise in Odessa. The material of the research is based on 61-70 Programmes of annual students scientific conferences at Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University and the programs of students conferences of the French language section of the Department of Foreign Languages for Humanities at the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology of Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University from 2005 to 2014. With the increasing volume of information, the expansion of administrative functions in professional activities, the need for greater competitiveness of higher education requires students' development of research skills. A special role is given to foreign languages, which can and should serve as an important factor in improving the quality of research of university students. On the example of the experience of the French language section of the Department of Foreign Languages for Humanities which teaches French to the students of all departments of the university, it is possible to conclude that the research work of students is also a powerful tool for the optimization of teaching a foreign language for professional orientation.
