Studies regarding some morphological features of one-summer old catfish (Silurus glanis Linnaeus, 1758)
Journal Title: Aquaculture, Aquarium, Conservation & Legislation - International Journal of the Bioflux Society - Year 2009, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
The present paper investigates some representative metric characters (total length, standard bodily length, head length, maximum height and bodily circumference) of wels catfish (Silurus glanis) during their first growing summer. Biometric analyses were performed on 70 individuals and in the end the morphological characters were statistically processed. The experimental results showed a positive correlation between all body variables investigated.

This study addressed if sturgeon larvae grew and survived better when fed a probiotic. Bacillus spp. were bioencapsulated in Daphnia magna (Straus 1820) and fed to Acipencer persicus (Borodin 1897) larvae. Ba...
Development of a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay targeted to the dnaJ gene of Vibrio harveyi, a bacterial pathogen in Asian seabass, Lates calcarife
Partial sequence of the dnaJ gene of Vibrio harveyi, which was isolated from diseased juvenile Asian seabass, Lates calcarifer was identified. The partial sequence of dnaJ gene of V. harveyi was 447bp and shared at least...
