Journal Title: IJAR-Indian Journal of Applied Research - Year 2015, Vol 5, Issue 11
Abstract
Thyroid swellings are a common cause for presentation in a surgical clinic. The etiology of thyroid s-well ings varies considerably ranging from several benign causes to sometimes malignant. Preoperative eva-lu ation of the nature of the swelling thus forms an important part of management. This study aims to correlate preop- era tive FNAC and postoperative histopathology to evaluate usefulness of FNAC to guide the clinician in the management of thyroid problems encountered in surgical practice.
