Study of Four Element Microstrip Antenna Array Using Patch Type Electromagnetic Band Gap Structure
Journal Title: Engineering, Technology & Applied Science Research - Year 2018, Vol 8, Issue 5
Abstract
This paper describes enhancements in the performance of four element microstrip antenna array. The conventional microstrip antenna array is producing gain equal to 6.81dB. With the introduction of U shape patch type electromagnetic band gap structure, the proposed microstrip antenna array is producing an improved gain of 20.33dB. It is producing reduced mutual coupling of -31.44, -36.41 and -31.62dB respectively. The radiation characteristics of the proposed microstrip antenna array are improved with appreciable decrease in back lobe radiation and increase in forward power. It is resonating at single band at 5.53GHz, producing an overall bandwidth of 109.45%, against 4.89% of conventional microstrip antenna array. Microstrip antenna arrays are designed using Mentor Graphics IE3D software and measured results are obtained using vector network analyzer.

Numerical Analysis for the Oxidation of Phenol with TiO2 in Wastewater Photocatalytic Reactors
Phenolic compounds in wastewater (even at low levels) are found to be quite toxic to humans due to their carcinogenic effects. Photocatalysis has been widely studied for the removal of phenol from industrial wastewater....
A Study on Ductility of Prestressed Concrete Pier Based on Response Surface Methodology
The ductility of prestressed concrete pier is studied based on response surface methodology. Referring to the pervious prestressed concrete pier, based on Box-Behnken design, the ductility of 25 prestressed concrete pier...
Reliability-Based Design Optimization of Trusses with Linked-Discrete Design Variables using the Improved Firefly Algorithm
In this paper, an approach for conducting a Reliability-Based Design Optimization (RBDO) of truss structures with linked-discrete design variables is proposed. The sections of the truss members are selected from the AISC...
Simulating the Various Subsystems of a Coal Mine
A set of simulation models of various subsystems of a coal mine was developed with the help of a new visual interactive simulation system of technological processes. This paper contains a brief description of this simula...
A Novel DTC Method with Efficiency Improvement of IM for EV Applications
Induction motor (IM) stator flux optimization is very important in order to get increasing running distance per battery charge of electric vehicles (EVs). This study introduces a new direct torque control (DTC) method fo...
