Study of invitro antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and acid-base indicator properties of flower extracts obtained from five traditional plants

Abstract

Anthocyanins are an important group of highly hydrosoluble pigments in most species of plants that may appear in red, purple, or blue depending on the pH. Anthocyanins are generally degraded at higher pH. The presence of this anthocyanin in the flower extract is responsible for the use as an indicator, antioxidant, and anti- inflammatory activity. The present study was done on the Flower extract of Bougainvilea glabra, Butea monosperma, Calendulla officinalis, Ixora coccinea, and Hibiscus rosasinensis to investigate the properties of the flower extract as an Antioxidant, Anti-inflammatory and Acid - Base Indicator.
