STUDY OF THE AERODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PIPE IN THE WORKING DIVISION OF THE EXISTING AERODYNAMIC PIPE SUPPLEMENTARY SPEEDS

Abstract

Experimental study of aerodynamic and heat-engineering characteristics of many objects in laboratory conditions is carried out using an aerodynamic tube. Aerodynamic tube is a device that creates a gas stream (in most cases, air) to study its effect on the object of the flow, as well as the experimental study of aerodynamic and thermal characteristics in the flow of investigated objects. The application of tubes in aerodynamics is based on the principle of the reversibility of movements and the theory of similarity of physical phenomena. The objects of tests in aerodynamic tubes are models of full-scale aircraft or their elements, wind turbines (geometrically similar, elastically similar, thermally similar, etc.), natural objects or their elements, samples of materials (removal of materials, catalytic surface and etc.). In the heat engineering, an aerodynamic tube is used for heat transfer studies, aerodynamic resistance, and patterns of flow through the gas flow of beams of pipes and other heat-exchange surfaces. The main part of any aerodynamic pipe is its working area, the value of which for experimental studies is determined by the characteristics of its fields of speed and pressure. Therefore, their definition is a necessary and obligatory condition for the preparation (tiling) of the pipe before performing further research. The purpose of the work is to measure and analyze the fields of velocity and pressure and to determine their local and average values in the working area of the studied aerodynamic tube, made at the Department of Thermal Power Engineering of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. The basic hydrodynamic characteristics of the open-loop aerodynamic tube of subsonic velocities are studied. Measurement of the fields of velocity and pressure in the working area of the aerodynamic tube, experimental results of the research were obtained and analyzed. The average velocity and pressure of the air flow in the zone of uniform distribution in the working area of the studied aerodynamic tube are 17 m/s and 22 Pa, respectively. For further studies of experimental samples in an aerodynamic tube, measurements should be made in a uniform zone with limiting restrictions on the left and on the right 25 mm, from above and below, respectively, 70 and 20 mm. The area of the zone of uniform distribution of the flow is 250×210 mm2, which is 58% of the total cross-sectional area.
