Study of thermodynamic Parameters of oxidation of 2–Hydroxy –1–Naphthalideneanil and its substituted anils by Potassium bromate in acidic medium
Journal Title: International Journal of Research in Chemistry and Environment (IJRCE) - Year 2012, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
The sodium and potassium bromate are stable and easily stored oxidants. They easily oxidize Schiff base and its substituted anils in aqueous acetic acid. The kinetics of oxidation of the Schiff base and its substituted anils by potassium bromate in aquo – acetic acid medium has been studied. The study is carried out at five different temperatures and the thermodynamic parameters such as E, H, S, G and frequency factor (A) are determined. A suitable plausible mechanism has been suggested on the basis of kinetic results.
