Study on Properties of Monotone Function
Journal Title: Scholars Journal of Physics, Mathematics and Statistics - Year 2015, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
Firstly, this paper gives the conditions of the existence of four kinds of unilateral limits and limit values for monotone function; points out the relationship between the existence of four kinds of unilateral limits and sequence limit, and weakens the conditions of Heine theorem. Secondly, it demonstrates that the discontinuity points of monotone functions are the discontinuity points of the first kind, and their number is countable at most within a interval. Finally, it gives the relationship between upper and lower limits of bounded sequence and monotone function and bounded sequence, and provides corresponding application examples.

Observations on the Hyperbola Y^2=72X^2+1
The binary quadratic equation y^2=72x^2+1 is considered and a few interesting properties among the solutions are presented.Employing the integral solutions of the equation under consideration, a special pythagorean trian...
The Analysis of an M/G/1 Retrial Queue with Two Vacation Policies (SWVI+MV)
In this paper, we consider an M/G/1 retrial queue with two vacation policies which comprise single working vacation, vacation interruption and multiple vacations, denoted by SWVI+MV. Only the customer at the head of the...
Efficiency Evaluation of the Two-Stage Units Using Two-Objective Linear Fractional Programming
Data envelopment analysis (DEA)is a method that evaluates the efficiency of decision making units by the linear programming problems. The decision making units have multiple input and outputs. Some of the decision making...
Calibrating pipe friction coefficient of the oilfield water injection system based on sensitivity analysis
In order to improve the accuracy of hydraulic model for the oilfield water injection network, the model need to be calibrated, so the method of sensitivity analysis was proposed to calibrate pipe friction coefficient in...
On the Non-Homogeneous Octic Equation with Five Unknowns ¬
The non-homogeneous octic equation with five unknowns represented by the diophantine equation is analyzed for its patterns of non-zero distinct integral solutions and two different patterns of integral solutions are illu...
