Studying the effects of improved fuel quality by determining the effects of SO2on people health with using AIRQ method
Journal Title: Journal of Biodiversity and Environmental Sciences (JBES) - Year 2015, Vol 6, Issue 5
Abstract
Low quality fuels and vehicles, and uncontrolled and excessive use of fossil fuels, have created problems such as air pollution that has increased incidence of various diseases. This research studied and compared permissible limits of pollution and details of Euro-2 and Euro-4 standards for vehicle pollution announced in the data published byIran’s Environmental Protection Organization and Iran Meteorological Organization using the AIRQ model. The data used was obtained from weather stations at the airport, in the Meteorological Office, on the University Square, and on Naderi Street in Ahvaz for the various months in 2013, and the vehicles traveling in Ahvaz formed the statistical population. Excel was used to edit information and data and to write formulas, and the AirQ software was employed to analyze the data. Based on results obtained in the output of the AirQ software, sulfur dioxide has considerable harmful effects on public health in Ahvaz.
