SUBCUTANEOUS FUNGAL ABSCESS MIMICKING AN IMPLANTATION DERMOID- A CASE REPORT

Abstract

PRESENTATION OF CASE 40-year-old female patient who was a farmer by occupation, Presented with painless swelling over the dorsum of the right hand for the past one year. Patient gives history of thorn prick over the dorsum of the right hand following which she developed the swelling which was insidious in onset and gradually increased in size to the current size. No history of pain, fever, pus discharge from the swelling.  Single swelling of size 4x3 cms over the dorsal aspect of the right hand  Skin over the swelling was normal and free from the underlying swelling (Pinchable).  No warmth and tenderness  Smooth surface  Cystic in consistency  Fluctuant  Non transilluminant  No bony indentation felt  No regional lymphadenopathy  No loss of sensation  Swelling was freely mobile.
